Goals
- Get Closer Relationship with God- Today starts a new Book in the Bible, Galatians . This book was written by Paul. He was a very prolific writer. His books in the Bible are mostly letters he writes to churches. He was prolific but gives the Holy Spirit the credit for the content. Chapter 1 Paul is writing about being an apostle of Jesus. Many at the time were saying Paul was not an apostle like the ones that Jesus had , the 12 original. Because his credentials were in question, many began to question if they were actually not saved. So a group referred to as the Judiazers added the law of Moses back to being saved. So they added works back. Paul is very angry telling the people to stop following false teachers. By adding works you discount the blood of Jesus and his sacrifice.
- Get Fit/Strong- Today was lower body day. I added weight to my belt squats so now I am at 160. I did 3 sets of 10 squats and calf raises. For my traditional squats with barbell I added 10 pounds so 110 lbs. I did dead lifts, 3 sets of 10. Knee raises with monkey feet and 15 lb. These are still difficult so I have not added yet.
- House Organization- I emptied a tub in the laundry room of stored rugs and washed them today
- Write- I wrote for 15 minutes today
- Camper Reno- video today
Shadow man
I found this topic of the shadow man when researching potential and our view of ourselves. I know Carl Yung from my psychology classes years ago. I really do not remember the topic of Shadow man. I find Yung pretty intriguing as he was a Christian. The shadow man is our dark side. I suspect that he was writing about man’s worldly nature. But I have not delved too deep yet into this, I will continue to read about Yung’s theories. I do believe the shadow man, we all have a dark side. I think I have been pretty clear that I have had the tendency to judge and am actively working on this. He does make several good points that I have found so far. We need to look at our shadow man, not look away. We can easily see other peoples bad sides but often we don’t look at ours. If we do not look at our shadow man and work on him he will remain hidden causing us many issues.
A man who is possesses by his shadow is always standing in his own light and falling into his own traps. ~Carl Jung
I think he is saying that if we do not look at our shadow man we are going to continue to make the same mistakes over and over. I have seen this work out in my own life. Pulling him out of the shadows and examining the shadow man, this is just another way to get to know yourself. You can be so deep and in denial you may have aspect of your personality that you never realize you possess. Many of us spend a lifetime and never realize our dark traits. Maybe the trait is not a bad trait but one you do not feel would be accepted by society. We are all molded by societal norms for better or worse. In order to live your best life you need to learn all about yourself. Expect more on Jung because he is very fascinating!
