Day 50 and more potential

Goals

  1. closer relationship with God- II Corinthians chapter 11 today. Paul is beseeching the Corinthian church to not be led astray by false “super apostles”. He thinks the church is being led by them because he never took any money from them and the super apostles are taking the church’s money. Now more than ever we have to guard from false teachings. In the church and in life.
  2. Get Fit/Strong- Today was lower body. I did not add weight and did my routine if belt squats, calf raises, traditional squats, dead lifts and knee raises. I did add good mornings today with a barbell of 100 lbs. This is the one where the barbell is on your back like a squat but instead of squat you keep your back straight, legs straight but knees soft and bend over. This is for the lower back and hamstrings. I did 3 sets of 10 for everything. I am doing a reset for 75Hard. I am determined to get it and stop starting over.
  3. House organization- went through a bin downstairs of summer clothes and bagged up to donate
  4. Write- Wrote for 15 minutes today
  5. Camper reno- watched videos

Potential

This topic really stuck with me and I have been thinking about it. Before you can live up to potential don’t you first have to decide potential for what? How do you decide what it is you need to being doing more of? I listened to the YouTube video again that I posted. The tedtalk where she discusses potential. The video said whatever you love doing, wherever your passion is that is what you should be doing. There is that passion word too. I don’t know if I have a passion? Writing, yes, I always wanted to be an author but, in my mind, it was always a fantasy. Perhaps this is what they mean when they say to do something without any fear of failure. Honestly, failure is not a fear I think I have. I have learned that failing is just a way to make you do something in a different way or try harder. This is a really hard but very important topic for me. I suppose there really aren’t many of us that are meeting our potential. One of the Tedtalks was using sports figures as people that live to their potential. There are some that just go that extra mile. Michael Jordan is one as many podcasts have mentioned his work ethic. We all have the potential in us, I believe that. I also know that we love being in our comfort zone. I try to do something every year that pushes me out of mine. Most of us go to work and spend 8-12 hours a day working on someone else’s goal. We have to dedicate a couple of hours to our goals.

Lao Tzu:

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.”

Do you know yourself? I always think I have good insight but what I have found is there is always more to dig up and work on in me. I think to begin to live a life to meet your potential, you must first take care of yourself. Eat better, exercise, sleep more and get outside every day. It is hard to live life at 100% when you are tired and wore out. Write it down and look at it every day when you get up and when you go to bed. Yank yourself out of your comfort zone. Seriously, I know it feels good to get home from work and out your jammies on and plop down in front of the TV but this is where your dreams go to die. Comfort zones are dangerous. Work on your dream today. Even 10 minutes, it is a start. We all have it in us, don’t let your potential go to waste. The world needs you. Turn your dreams into reality.
