Goals
- Closer relationship with God- Today was II Corinthians chapter 6. Paul is pleading with the people of Corinth to not accept the love of Jesus in vain. This is because some in the town were still idol worshiping.
- Get Fit/Strong- Today was a rest day. Typically I do body weight but I had my Grands so I walked around the pond with them today. Sadly another day I did not get the gallon of water in so I am starting over again tomorrow on the 75 hard. I did plan my workouts for this week. Also, I did some meal prepping as this is easier for me than trying to throw something together for my meal at work.
- House organization- Really did not get this done today just did my regular cleaning this morning.
- Write- Also did not hit this today, spent the day outside with my Grands
- Camper Reno- spent some time in the camper today with my granddaughters planning some of the changes we want to make.
Hydration
I know I have written how much I struggle with drinking the gallon of water everyday. I did work up to the gallon. I added water everyday for a week before I started the 75hard. I am not going to lie, for me , it is work to drink this much. I know it is important to my body and muscle growth. I also like salt a lot so It does help me to drink it. If water retention is a chronic problem, it may be because there’s too much salt in the diet. The higher the sodium intake, the more the body tries to retain water. I have been working to cut more salt out of my diet. Salt can add to high blood pressure for anyone that is salt sensitive. Be careful of hidden salt. Many soups, lunch meats and condiments are loaded with salt. Get into the habit of checking salt content on labels. Many frozen meal are loaded to make the taste more attractive. While it might seem counter intuitive drinking water can actually help you shed excess water weight. When water is in short supply, the body, thinking there’s a shortage, begins hoarding it. This water is stored in extra cellular spaces. Without enough water, the kidneys can’t function properly. When this happens, some of the load is transferred to the liver. The liver metabolizes stored fat for energy. If the liver is doing some of the kidneys’ work, it burns less fat. In addition, water can actually reduce feelings of hunger. I can attest to the fact that when I drink a gallon of water in a day I am too full to eat much. Soda, coffee and tea do not count in your daily water intake as they contain caffeine and will cause you to diurese (pee out) more water. As with any new regimens or eating new, get input from your physician before starting something new.
