Goals
- Get closer to God- today was the last chapter in 1st Corinthians, chapter 16. In this chapter Paul tells the church of Corinth to have their offerings ready. He instructs them to give on the first day of the week however they were prospered the previous week. He ends by telling us to love the Lord. I also read Daniel chapter 6 today for a little boost of faith. This chapter tells why Daniel was put in the pit of Lions. He was so esteemed in the land and had done no wrong that many princes were jealous so they tricked the King into signing a law. What did Daniel do wrong? He prayed to his God. God was with him in the pit of lions and he was retrieved unharmed the next morning. Is there anything working against you that you need to trust God to keep you safe?

Focus
Let’s talk about focus. What is there in your life that you need to center your attention on? You know those 1 or 2 things that you want to do, it would make your life better but you have yet to tackle it? My top 2 goals are going to be my focus items, I will continue to work on the other 3 but for now they are it. I feel for me those 2 will bring the most to my life at this time. Over the next few weeks I am going to track my time and see what I do with that odd 15-20 minutes. Where am I wasting time that I could dedicate to my goals?
You know anything you focus on gets better. If you decide to let’s say detail your vehicle, you spend hours on it and it looks good right? What in your life do you want to dedicate time to? What do you want to get better at or make better? Focus will change everything. I have learned to ask myself when doing something , is this contributing to my life? I understand the draw of TV and for many Americans but does it add to your life? The average American watches 4 hours and 16 minutes of TV daily! The article I got the statistic from also broke it down by age. Those over 65 watch the most at 7 hours and 14 minutes, 50-64 5 hours and 43 minutes, 35-49 3 hours and 24 minutes and 18-34 1 hour and 37 minutes. That is a ton of wasted time. I am not prefect , sometimes I watch TV. When I am on break I will watch something, typically Youtube. I have worked on getting rid of entertainment TV. Before I started working on my goals, Fridays were my TV days and it was nothing for me to spend 3-4 hours watching mindless TV. Entertainment is ok in small doses, but if you find you are spending hours each day in front of the TV you might want to look at your goals and rethink how you are spending your time. Focus on a goal, you will find everything improves when your attitude improves. Your attitude will improve when you focus and are successful in getting closer to that goal.
