Goals
- Closer relationship to God- Today was chapter 12 of Corinthians. This chapter has a lot to say as does anything that Paul writes. He speaks of gifts of the spirit. Paul writes that that Holy Spirit gives a gift to each believer. He goes on to say that while there are many gifts of the Spirit there is only one Spirit. One is not more important than another just as one person in Christ is important but not more important than another. We are all needed and should depend on each other. This Chapter says we are all a community in Christ.
- Get Fit/Strong- Today is lower body day, I will admit that upper is my favorite. Clean eating and water
Yesterday I touched on diet and how bad processed food is. Let me first state I am not a certified expert on nutrition. This is a subject I have researched for years. First, I would like to say just how bad the food pyramid is, the one the government has on it’s website. The pyramid has as it’s base all simple carbs such as breads. Bread breaks down into simple sugars and sugar is the cause of inflammation in the body. What I will say about the pyramid is follow the money. The big food companies fund all of the studies. I am sure you are aware that eating foods in their original state or as close as you can get is the healthiest option. In America, I guess you could say we are a fast food nation and it is showing. Diabetes is epidemic and what causes blood sugar to rise? Simple carbs. We have created a nation of patients dependent of pharmaceuticals. If you are diabetic ,look up Dr. Jason Fung. He is a kidney specialist and treats diabetic patients. He has had great success using intermittent fasting with his patients . Intermittent fasting is a way of eating during a specific window of time. He has many YouTube videos also. I am not going to say I am perfect. I will eat fast food 1-2 a month when I am out running errands but it is not a steady diet. At one time I was eating pretty wheat free diet and no sugar. Sadly I let that drop off and I gained weight. I am not advocating any particular way to eat. You will have to figure that out for yourself. But for me I need to weed out things from my diet such as the sugar and wheat. There are lots of free documentaries available on the internet and I suggest you check them out. Keep an open mind and learn how to treat yourself better to be healthy. Food is either medicine for the body or a slow poison, you have to decide wisely.
