Day 30 and staying motivated when you aren’t feeling it.

Goals

Today is really day 31, I did two days of 27 but patience please. This is my first blog. So I will just keep today 30.

  1. Closer relationship with God- Today was Corinthians chapter 7, this chapter is all about sexual immorality. It speaks of the responsibilities a husband and wife have to each other. It also speaks to widowed and singles that they are better staying that way unless they feel they will be sexually immoral. All I will say about this chapter is that many need to reread this or read it for the first time. I have heard from many that the subject of premarital sex is not meant for modern day. I will say that I think many today mistake sex and love. That is all.
  2. Get fit- I want to change this to get strong. Today was my 3rd upper body this week and I added weight today to my bench, I am at 100lbs! I feel within a a week I can add again.
  3. House organization -I weeded more clothes out of my closet today. As I get older the idea of less is appealing to me.
  4. Write- 20 minutes today
  5. Camper reno- Videos today

Staying motivated.

We all have those days when we just aren’t feeling it. When lifting weights you are supposed to take rest days. I know this as I was into weight lifting before but in all honesty I never took a rest day. This time recently I took a total rest day due to being sick. Resting allows repair and you will see quicker muscle gains. I am afraid to take rest days or change my workout times. Like today, I have my grands while their parents are away for the weekend, I was thinking of working out in the evening instead of this morning. I took about 5 minutes and knew that I wouldn’t because I found myself thinking ” you already did upper twice this week “. I know my brain was already digging for something to make me feels okay to skip today, I had to immediately stop that. I went out and did my normal work out, no shortening of it either. There may be times you start working out and you brain is telling you “okay enough”, don’t let it short you. While I will say any workout is a good workout but repeatedly cutting sets short of not doing your entire workout will lead to eventually skipping days until you find it has been weeks or months. This is not to say that you will have days where something comes up , try to get you major sets in that day. Always do your compound sets such as benching of squatting. Don’t let your auto-pilot take over because it will lie to you. Think about how far you have come and how far you want to go. Hold on to your goals. Andy Frisella calls it having the “bitch voice of the boss voice”, this is how he describes your inner dialogue. If you are offended by cursing then this guy is not someone you want to watch. I included a Tedtalk video that talks about keeping your motivation. Do you have a routine that sparks you?
