Goals
- closer relationship with God- Corinthians Chapter 2 , Paul talks about the Holy Spirit and how we are able to communicate with God’s spirit through the Holy Spirit that we have been given through our faith in Christ. Charles Stanly has several videos on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our helper in this life, he helps us stay in the will of God. I have one below if you are curious, the Holy Spirit is a very important concept in Christian faith and it is a topic that is often neglected in many churches.
- Get Fit – Today is a rest day, so I did body weight exercises. Pull ups, body weight squats, inclined push ups and inverse crunches. The inverse crunches are helping build my lower back which had become weak from sitting for my job. I have been having significantly less pain and cramping in my lower back. Today I planned out my workouts for the weak and have added a few weight lifting exercises to work on specific parts
- house organization – did not accomplish much in this area as my Grands are over. Later I plan to get the top of the fridge cleaned off.
- Write- I will write for 15 minutes today later, I have a Birthday party today for my 2 year old granddaughter
- Camper Reno- Video later today
Perfection
Let’s talk about perfection or the advantage of being imperfect. I have 5 goals, maybe this is too many but meh it is what it is. Now lets talk about how many times you have quit because you didn’t adhere 100% ? I have days where some of my goals were attended to better than the others. You will have that . I realized that you have to keep your eyes on the end goal. My end goal is to change my life in 1 year. Also, what I feel is different this time is that I have my goals written out and a plan to get there. I didn’t start out with a perfect plan and it is evolving as time goes. It doesn’t have to be perfect and this doesn’t mean it is still not valuable or workable. While we do have to keep our end goals in mind it is also very important to just strive for a tiny change everyday. If you are 1% better everyday then think of where you will be in 365 days! Baby steps over a year equal a huge change in a year. Even if you didn’t work 15 minutes on your goal today but did 5 minutes that is still more than before. Remember Baby steps!
I recently saw some Jordan Parks videos and he has some good ideas so I included 2 below I think will be helpful for working on goals. These 2 work well with today’s topic.
