Goals
- Closer relationship with God- Today Chapter 13 of Romans and Paul continues to tell what living a life sacrificed to God means for us. This chapter makes me think about happiness. Why are we all so unhappy? JD Greear has a podcast that I was listening to last night that goes into Jesus’ talk on Mount Olive. Even for people that do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah , he is respected as a great teacher in morals. He gives the 8 things that Jesus says we need to be happy. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/eight-ways-to-be-happy-according-to-jesus/id723921422?i=1000537490198

Expectations, are they causing your unhappiness ?
Think about your expectations for your life. Are some of these ones that you developed in your childhood or teen years? We all go into relationships with expectations of how it should be. I think the one thing I have realized as I get older is that you cannot have expectations of how things should be, you have to have no expectations. I feel this is why I have not enjoyed every moment of my life. I know how hard this is, not to have expectations but this goes into the idea that we are all operating on preprogrammed habits. We act a certain way based on our expectations. As a freshman in college I had my life planned out , what I would be doing for a career down to the apartment I would live in. Needless to say life doesn’t work out the way we planned in our head. While I think expectations for our life are realistic, we have to be very mindful of what expectations we are setting. We have to be very aware of our habits. Do your expectations and habits match?
