Day 12- Vison and life statements

Goals

  1. closer relationship with God- I had to reread chapter 9, I think I rushed through it because I was working the weekend. Everything I read that Paul has written, leaves me impressed with his conviction. 9:3 he writes “For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren”. He was so despaired that the Jews had turned from God. I could imagine feeling this for family but not a whole nation of people. Paul really exemplifies loving others like Jesus. On this note, has anyone else noticed how mean people have gotten? I am in a chicken group and wow they have been mean. Even in my southern recipes group.
  2. Get Fit- Being more specific part of this goal is to be able to climb stairs easier at the end of 365 days. I have a lot of pain in my knee. Today is lower body. Squats, I tied with plates but went back to 25s, 3 sets of 8, 4 leg exercises with monkeyfeet and 10 lb weights. I will need to go to 15lb next time, yay! small victory. Deadlift 25lb weights on the barbell I did 3 sets of 8
  3. Write- I wrote for 15 minutes, I need to make time for more in my schedule.
  4. House organization- I cleaned out another drawer, I realized that I have more clothes than I need but I still find myself wanted to put it in a container and store it in my basement. This is an urge I will fight as I do not want a stack of tubs with clothes taking up space.
  5. Camper Reno- I watched a YouTube of demo on a camper, you really have to be careful how you take these apart or you ruin them.

  • This YouTube video a little over 5 minutes and I feel it is so important. This one gives you a little more perspective on crafting a vision and statement. This one asks you to look at your life and what you would like it to be at 20,30,40 etc. This, for me was a little anxiety producing as I just turned 60, I really have limited time on this earth. But, none of us are promised any amount of time. In the scheme of things we are not on this planet for long. The older you get the quicker time passes. So for me I have to look at what do I want for my life at 70? On one hand I am a little angry with myself for waiting till I’m 60 to work on this but on the other hand better late than never right. Hopefully there are some out there that will learn this at a younger age and accomplish great things!
  • The more I learn about vision statements , the more I wonder why this is not a skill we teach children? Basically, it is a mission statement for life. Every corporation has a mission statement. If I get one idea across it is to take the time out of the noise of life to really think about the things you dream of, the things that you feel driven about doing. Then make a plan for these things, carve out a little block of time everyday to work on these things and do it!
