Goals
1. closer relationship with God- today was chapter 7 in Romans. I am finding that Paul likes to compare and contrast. He must have been an excellent teacher. This chapter is all about how we died to the law. We now operate in Grace, thankfully. I couldn’t imagine being subject to the law of Moses.
2. Get fit- today was upper body still at benching 95 lbs. I did upper rows, flys, tricep kickbacks and shoulder raises. I also did partial pull ups. Basically these are straps I have on the pull up bar in the ceiling of my garage and I lay back and pull my body weight up to standing.
3. writing- 15 more minutes writing in the book. I want to focus on the writing instead of focused on learning to write. I will continue with the podcasts that I follow about writing.
4. house organization- I cleaned my tee shirt drawer out, how many tee shirts does one person need?
5. camper reno- I continued with the RV wiring book that I have , reading for 15 minutes. I did get some good news yesterday. The zoning office called and I go in Monday to pay for the permit. Then the zoning office comes out and surveys my property to five the final ok for the building steaks. I am so antsy to begin actually renovating the camper so it is ready for spring!
So yesterday I brought up the WOOP method and this lead me down the road to vision. The first step of the WOOP is wish. These work together. I was listening to a podcast called Goal setting & achievement and she talked about the “elite 8%” apparently only 8% of people obtain their goals. My next podcast in the play list was tiny leaps, big changes . He talked about vision. That is important to have a vision for your life. This may be the missing part of goal setting for me. I have these goals but what does my life look like in a year? I think we need to start with a vision of what life looks like when goals are accomplished and have that firmly in our head, then do the WOOP. I think the WOOP is the plan to keep from getting derailed?
I have my goals but they are kind of vague. What does ” get fit” in 365 days look like? My plan is to begin to envision what I expect and then plan. This is a Sunday thing for reflection. I will continue to explore the topic of WOOP and vision and I hope you do too.
I will put the links for the podcasts below. Also there is an app called Blinklist and if you don’t have it you need to check it out. Basically it takes books and breaks them down to little nuggets, giving you the major points. It allows you to consume lots of knowledge in less time. Sometimes the book is really good and then I buy it for in depth reading, but sometimes just getting a few good points from it is all I need.
